Updated: Apr 13, 2020

We have collected the essential information and key sources for you in relation to COVID-19.

This article targets Danish citizens abroad, however other nationalities can benefit from it as well.

If you seek to find both official Danish issued information and Japanese governmental issued information, please check the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark in Japan site, as they have created a landing page, where you can find information for Danish travelers and residents in Japan in connection with the outbreak of coronavirus / COVID-19. It is updated everyday, and here you will find useful links and emergency numbers.

For traveling danes in general, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Denmark (Udenrigsministeriet - UM) has created a Facebook-group: 'Danskere Globalt – Sammen Mod Corona' where Danes abroad can find and help each other. This initiative is a supplement to help Danes stranded around the world. If you are traveling and need help, please write in the group.

Danish Travel Regulations

The Danish Foreign Ministry (UM) has (on 06.04.2020) decided to extent the period, where they advise against all unnecessary travel to the world, until May 10th. To avoid bringing the virus back home to Denmark or spreading the virus to other countries. If you need counseling or help to travel home to Denmark, you can contact their control center 24/7 at bbb@um.dk or +4533921112.

Moreover, you can sign yourself up for 'Danskerlisten' at UM's free 'Udenlandsdansker'-app: 'Rejseklar'. 'Danskerlisten' will allow the UM to contact you or send you important information, concerning the country you are located in, through push-messages.
